Taking Yorkshire To The Summit Of Everest.
I’m attempting to become the youngest Yorkshireman to the summit of Mount Everest (8848m). My expedition next spring will be my first time in Nepal and aged 23 I will be one of the youngest Brits to attempt the climb.
Mount Everest is a serious undertaking and I have spent the last 6 years preparing for it. With climbs in Bolivia, Tanzania, Russia, Norway, France and the UK, I feel more than ready to take on my biggest challenge yet! I will be attempting to summit via the via the South Col route from Nepal, the famous route Hillary and Tenzing followed In May 1953. I will be facing temperatures as low as -60 degrees and gusts of up 100mph. Sounds fun right?
My climb won’t be possible without the help and support of friends, family, sponsors and like minded strangers. I’m setting out on this dream to show that with the right attitude, approach, training and mindset, you can achieve more than you think. If I look back and consider all the moments when I thought about giving up, I wouldn’t have got out of bed this morning. Anything is possible when you believe!
and My timeline in the lead up to Mount Everest will be shown on the home page here. I have just over 200 days before I depart for Nepal, and if everything goes to plan I will hopefully be on the summit of Everest around the middle of May (weather window allowing) and become the youngest Yorkshireman to the top. This won’t be my first big adventure, and it most certainly won’t be my last – let’s just see what the next few months bring, but you can bet I will be giving absolutely everything to give myself the best possible chance of success. If you feel you can help me with this chance please get in touch here. “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”.
