So if you hadn’t already seen (where have you been hiding for the past month..) I’m attempting to summit Mount Everest next spring without single-use plastics and If I succeed, I’ll be the youngest Yorkshireman to the top. (It’s all very exciting!)
The next 5-6 months are going to be tough. I’ll be training a minimum of 1 hour a day, 7 days a week for the next 3 months solid. My training videos will be uploaded to my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube channels. You will also be able to follow my training schedule and timeline on my home page very soon, I’d always appreciate a training partner- so if you’re ever free please get in touch and we can sweat together (no puns).
Along with training, I’ll be busy with several media commitments in the run up to Christmas, I’m putting together a schedule of all my TV, Radio, Magazine and Newspaper pieces so you won’t miss one step of my journey to the top.
Over the next 2 weeks, I have several projects with local schools. I’ll be visiting Scholes, Honley and Brockholes giving talks and presentations to not only inspire but also educate on the real ethos behind my attempt to Everest, so keep an eye out for those videos soon.
Just this week my fabulous ‘Josh to Everest’ animation (link here and seen below) created by the ever wonderful Laura of B Animated Ltd went live with great success and I had over 1000 views in 3 days across all my media platforms. On top of this I had a great, insightful article in the Yorkshire Post on Tuesday (pictured below) The story covered how this journey came to, and what’s happening in the lead up to Everest.
This weekend I begin my strength and conditioning program, with the aim to also cut down on processed foods throughout the week (I’m sorry hot dogs). Everything’s taking momentum now and I’ve realised how little time there is until my attempt begins. Nervous? Scared? Excited?
I just need to remember it’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.
Dream Big. Dream Everest.
