My Story

My mountaineering story began in June 2012 when fresh out of school and with a head for adventure and freedom my grandad (John) then 70 whisked me off to the Lake District for a weekend of climbing. Summiting Scafell Pike (the highest mountain in England) opened up a whole new world for me and one that set me up on my path to Everest.

Plastic Free

My dream is to end our addiction and reliance on plastic. We have over 8 billion tonnes of plastic circulating the planet and more than 300 million tonnes in our oceans. I will be trying to summit Mount Everest completely plastic free in the hope this will kick start a change in the way we approach even the smallest tasks in our life.

My mission is to break mountaineering records by becoming the First Person Plastic Free & The Youngest Yorkshireman to summit Mount Everest (8848m). I need help to get there, but having already achieved great success in the mountaineering, climbing and triathlon world I often attend school presentations to inspire the next generation.

Follow my journey and keep up to date via my blog. I will be detailing all my training, kit, planning, expedition resources and any useful tips I have learnt along the way. You can also follow my adventure on social media - Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter for behind the scene access to personal gear and stories.

Undertaking these record expeditions is incredibly difficult. They take an awful amount of time, resources, kit, finance and organisation to manage. Sponsorship is just one element of these expeditions and I need to raise £45,000 to help with my plastic free mission to summit Mount Everest & become Yorkshire's Youngest.
